well you know Green Bay doesn't want him in the NFC North...but it seems like Atlanta would be the 2nd best fit behind the Packers just because he's already played there...start with one team, ball out with another team, finish your career with your first team...all while throwing all over the Panthers twice a year 7/23/2008 5:29:33 PM |

Gruden was Favre's QB coach sometime in the early 90s in Green Bay so theres the link
but they have Garcia, who isnt great, but isnt horrible, and Gruden SEEMS like the type of person who would want to avoid the media circus which will inevitably follow Favre wherever he goes] 7/23/2008 5:40:05 PM |

I could see ATL happening...
You go with this terrible image of being associated with Vick, to actually having a QB who is loved by the masses, and can probably still play...

Thats the worst job in the league. The ONLY benefit is its in the worst conference. 9 wins in the NFC south wins division. 7/23/2008 5:45:13 PM |

Yeah I knew Gruden was his old QB coach, I just don't see Favre coming to GB knocking out Garcia and Simms (assuming Simms stays).
Favre to ATL is what I have been thinking, let him finish where he started. He will suck there lol with the lack of quality WR and the only real threat Crumpler is gone.
I just don't see GB trading Favre to Minn. One of the last things they want to do.

Thats why I think these fits are all crap.
There isn't a single team in the NFL that is a good QB away from a Superbowl outside of the vikings. They get considered for this just because the NFC sucks that bad. 7/23/2008 5:51:43 PM |

how about the Jaguars
maybe the Redskins]7/23/2008 7:01:51 PM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
I would say the reason the Vikings fit the role more-so than the Bears is just overall talent.
The Bears are lacking at WR, RB, and their D isn't what it use to be. The Bears use to be the elite class of D's in the league but now they're not even top 5 with players leaving and contract issues popping up.
The Vikings are questionable at WR but have potential, the running game is one of the best in the league, and their D is top 5 D(especially looking at turnovers). 7/23/2008 7:07:35 PM |

Redskins wont get out of their own conference
Jaguars wont get past the colts or patriots.

TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148446 Posts user info edit post |
the Bears defense isnt as good as it was a couple years ago but its still good...and the Vikings are lacking in WRs themselves, and lets not forget that Peterson's two best games were in the first quarter of the season and he got banged up and only got like 300 yards during the last half of the season...and yeah Taylor is a good back, and they have a good defense, but I'd definitely say the Bears or Skins or Jags could all potentially make a Superbowl with Favre at the helm if they got their chemistry down early enough
^explain to me the runaway favorite in the NFC that Washington couldnt get by if the Skins had Favre?

I wouldn't mind to see him with the Texans. They have a star WR and some solid back-ups. Running game is iffy at best but the D is young and getting better. Only problem is whether he could hold up behind that OL.

needs to be a team that isn't rebuilding, and sucks at qb. teams aren't going to upgrade to favre if it is a marginal upgrade. 7/23/2008 9:07:27 PM |

It'd be a bit of a stretch, but the Ravens would fit this if their corners could stay healthy. They're also in a questionable at best defense.
However, much like the Jaguars and Bears, they have no wide receivers at all, and like you said, Favre wouldn't turn any of these teams into Super Bowl favorites.
Quote : | "but I'd definitely say the Bears" |
You mean the same Bears team that has a rookie at running back and a #1 receiver that was described as:
His first season is widely considered a failure, as he caught 23 passes for no touchdowns. According to Howard Bryant of the Washington Post, citing NFL.com, "Lloyd suffered through the worst season for a starting receiver in the Super Bowl era... No starting No. 2 wide receiver in the NFL started more games (12) while producing less (23 catches, 365 yards)."
Quote : | "^explain to me the runaway favorite in the NFC that Washington couldnt get by if the Skins had Favre?" |
On paper they should be fine, but like every NFC East team, they're questionable at best. Rookie head coach, new offensive and defensive systems, injury problems that started the first day of camp, injury prone star running back, questionable receivers (there's talent there, but who knows whether they're going to show up or not), etc.
Oh, not to mention the constantly hyped fact that Favre has never beat the Cowboys.

^^^ Wait wait wait... you're saying the guy who threw for 4155 yards, 28 TD's and completed 66% of his passes last year would be a backup to Kyle Boller and Troy Smith?
What The Fuck? The guy was an MVP runner-up, and had one of his best seasons in his illustrious, hall-of-fame career.
Its either Tampa, Baltimore or retirement. The only other possibility is if an established starter gets a season-ending injury in preseason. There is just no way he goes to a division rival, and theres no way he reconciles with GB at this point.

Rams are better off sticking with Bulger or finding someone younger. They gain nothing from Favre. Bills have one above-average wide receiver and need to find out if Edwards is right for them. Chiefs have one above-average wide receiver and need to find out if Croyle is right for them.
Every team you listed either has a very established starter or needs to find a new young starter because they're not getting anywhere with Favre.7/24/2008 7:49:05 AM |
