unless it's really hot and/or I've been working outside sweating like a dog.

Anyone else?

I know a lot of people prefer beer, but that's not my thing.

that's one of the only times I drink soda. It's so much better then, and much more refreshing

but then I typically drink a water within 30 mintues as well

If I try to drink soda under similar circumstances, I absolutely always get the hiccups. I drink maybe one every 3 months.

i cant drink soda if im hot and working outside. that shit makes me crash hard. Soda has zero hydration value and the sugar just sucks the life out of me if im that dehydrated

that's about the only time I won't drink a soda.

If it's hot and I am sweating I am drinking water or sports drink. Soda just tastes bad to me then.

Sweet Tea so cold that it doesn't require ice.

I have tried to cut back on my fizzy drink consumption but every now and then I will splurge and get a diet pepsi.

i drink water all day everyday, until i get a hankering for a soda.

i wish soda was in 6-8 oz containers like in europe. that's all i really want. i never drink the entire 12-16-20 oz container.

what a waste.

[Edited on July 28, 2008 at 11:10 AM. Reason : i want ice in my sweet tea. plus lots of lemon.]

^^ Me too. I only allow myself one 12-oz. sugary drink on Fridays and Saturdays now.

They're still the nectar of the gods on a hot day, though.

^ The new Harris Teeter in Cary has 8-oz. cans and 8-oz. classic-shaped bottles of Coke.

If I've been working outside and am hot, sometimes a soda hits the spot. But in that situtaion I'll usually drink some water at the same time, because the soda's hydration qualities are...limited.

My soda intake is kind of irregular overall though. Some days I won't have any, some days I'll have several. I'm more likely to get my required morning caffeine from coffee, and I try not to keep soda in the house since if I do I drink too much of it, so I generally only drink it if I'm dining out and don't feel like sweet tea. But when I do that, I'm not shy about refills.

sometimes if I'm eating at a restaurant.

I rarely buy soda at the store or from a vending machine. I just don't drink it often

So how long have scientists known that artifical sweeteners don't help you lose weight?

I have never had any artificial stuff, but the people that I know who stopped drinking diet soda started to lose weight within the month.

I've pretty much cut sodas out completely from my diet. I think I surprised the hell out of my gf when I didn't order a root beer (which is the ambrosia of all soda) at dinner, when I could have gotten it for free. I'm just a camel, I guess: water only.

I'd rather have water or sweet tea. Soda just doesn't appeal to me.

I have also been drinking that Lipton Green Tea that you can find at Food Lion most of the time for like $1.00 for a 1.5 liter bottle. Good deal.
