I really wanted to get into this show and tried. I watched all of season 2, that made me go back and watch season 1, and then tried to follow season 3. I gave the fuck up.

What is the point of this show? I like many of the characters, and the plot is interesting, but I never got any credible answers that I could fully grasp.

Hell of a show though, to keep going so strong...but they do go through some characters.

its hard to watch, but i want to see how they pull the whole thing off. I'm somewhat out of ideas as to what it could be. Last season they threw so much random shit in that i'm just like "okay wtf... are they trying to lose viewers so they don't have to tie this all together? or is there a grand plan?[close quotations]

i kind of forgot, but basically they figured out that you can move the island in time/space supposedly. Penelope's dad is trying to find the island because he and ben are enemies basically (or something). As usual Ben is more powerful than we expect. John dies in the future somehow and like a bunch of people get off the island and tell the rest of the world that everyone else is dead. For some reason Ben Appears and says that everyone who left the island needs to figure out how to get back. Claire/Jack's( i can't remember if its his real dad or not) Dad shows up on the island. For some reason Aaron is a big deal.

Some random scientists show up with Penelope's dad and try to kill everyone on the island. Theres some weird magnetism shit going on. Also time passes differently on the island depending on the bearing you take to get there, like a dead body shows up then 2 days later off the island that guy is killed.

I think thats about everything. There was something about the original two dharma people but i forgot.

If Kate died it wouldn't matter at all.

She is the most useless main character on the show. Think about it.. she isn't tied to ANY of the major plot points happening in the series. None of them at all.

that's kind of the point of insurance......
if one of them dies, the show is fucked, and therefore the productioin company gets a large payout because of the loss of one of their main characters and therefore the likely loss of the show

the production delays from reshoots
the marketing blitz that would be necessary to retain fans and casual viewers after the necessary haiatus

and i think one of jack's lines in the "then i guess we'll never know" video, the segment on her and aaron in the 30 minute "Behind the controversy" video (or whatever its called) and the "we're going on vacation" video means kate is going to play a bigger role in this season than you're giving her credit for

but whatever, i just threw her out there because i think she's hot, and would mourn the passing of dat ass

i just watched some of the special features including, "on the lot" where they transform hawaii into all the sets (the desert, iraq, etc...)

they said only 4 scenes in all 4 seasons were filmed somewhere other than hawaii.

it is worth watching if you have the dvds... the definitive flash forwards was also a good 50 minute recap of ALL the flash forwards of last season...helps sum up everything and they put it in order....
