1.) Talked with Girl A about Girl B.
Girl A: "I wonder if she didn't cheat with Guy C?"
Me: "I don't think so."
Girl A: "I don't think so either, but it's concidental given [a number of circumstances]."

[Months pass.]

[Idle chit chat with girl B, who complains about people spreading rumors about her and Guy C.]
Girl A: I wish I knew who spread those rumors.
Me: I don't know.

[Hours pass.]

Girl A (4 or 5 times): I wish you could tell me who started the rumors.
Me: Girl A. >.< (I'm good friends with girl A and instantly regret it.)

[More months pass.]
Girl A (via text): You lied to Girl B about what I said. "We R not cool"
Me: No I didn't. (Provided direct quoting)

Girl B (more texting): You lied to Girl A about what I said.
Me: I was honest when I shouldn't have been.

Now both girls won't speak to me, and we have to work under incredibly stressful conditions this fall. I'm on the failboat, granted, but what's the easiest way to play this thing out so I don't get beheaded?

maybe girl b should stop being a ho and girl a should mind her own business?

it's generally not a good idea to participate in office gossip.

That is very true. From now on I'm keeping my damn mouth shut. I'm not one to talk normally with anyone I work with, so the one time I do of course something crazy has to happen. >.<

keep your mouth shut at any and all opportunities. it can only get you in trouble.

when cornered and forced to speak, be honest. you don't have to remember anything if you're honest.

Just kill both of them and throw them into a fire.

It's illegal, but there won't be any more drama for a while (until the police find out).

if you were truthful in everything you said to both of them then you have nothing to worry about

i put my foot in my mouth big time with a girl at work i sort of know. i apologized and told her i was being honest, i wasn't going to try to back pedal because i'm terrible at lying and hopefully she can appreciate my honesty over me trying to come up with lies to counteract what i already said to her.

she appreciated my honesty and i think we're a little better friends now
