I just moved here from the DC area and I am dearly missing my local music scene. Where do bands usually play in Raleigh. I prefer bluegrass and jam bands, but tend to have an open mind about music. I just have to see it live! Where around here can I find some good bands with little to no cover? 8/2/2008 10:33:57 AM |

In the Raleigh area:
The Brewery The Pour House Volume 11 Tavern Berkely Cafe Lincoln Theater Dive Bar Downtown Live
that should get you started. or you could go to basically any restaurant or bar and catch a goofy cover band or john mayer wannabe

Cat's Cradle and Local 506 are good if you feel like driving 25 minutes to Chapel Hill
I didn't know Horniblows did music, that's cool. Where do they set the bands up? 8/2/2008 2:49:08 PM |

it's not really bands so much some local players, many in bands of their own, getting together to play casually
they usually set up in the bar room 8/2/2008 2:56:27 PM |
