This diamond belonged to my family and I just got it appraised:

measures approximately 7.86 x 5.19 x 3.71 millimeters (very thick girdle) and weighs by formula approximately 1.20 carat. The diamond is approximately GIA color grade I and clarity grade I1.

The appraisal gives this diamond Retail Replacement Value of $4,700, and I was told to expect anywhere between $3,000 - $3,500 for this. I thought I would post on TWW before getting aggressive with craigslist, and I'm definitely willing to negotiate. Let me know if you or anyone you know may be interested in this. Thanks!

Color I and clarity I1

Even with an ideal cut the appraiser is smoking crack.

I can post some pics tonight. As for the clarity, I'm not really sure about all that stuff, however I personally cannot see any inclusions/flaws in the diamond by looking at it. If there is serious interest for this please PM me and we can definitely set something up for you to actually take a look at it.

i doubt most jewelers would carry a diamond with that color and clarity and i'd be even more suprised if anyone would want one with it. i've got to agree with ^^^^.

# I1-I2-I3
Included (three grades). Inclusions visible under 10x magnification AS WELL AS to the human eye. We do not recommend buying diamonds in any of these grades.

If you're not mistaken on your clarity and color grades, general price guides put the diamond around 2000

well that's what the appraisal says. My family trusts the jewler where we got it appraised so I'm not sure that they f'ed it up. I would generally trust certified jewlers when it comes to an appraisal. Anyway, like I said if anyone is interested in getting a diamond for cheaper than normal and wants to actually take a look at this one please let me know. I have all the documentation that you would want to look at as well.

I'd love to take a look..... Can you meat me behind the Citgo off Capital Blvd. in 20 minutes?

I'll be in a Black 99 Tahoe with 20" wheels and dark tint... Flash your headlights twice so I know its you, park the car, and walk around to the trunk.

^^^ Appraisals are pretty expensive. Cost me $75 for this one so I'd figure its good enough.

Well I was only putting it on here to see if anyone from here was interested first since I'm going to be selling it pretty cheap.

Anyway, here are a couple of images I took last night:

I can see your point about the I1, but Color I is NOT bad. I is the highest im going to go, after that Id feel like I was wasting money because I can barely tell a difference from I on up AT ALL under several lights.

Yooo crazy.
A G looks like popcorn next to an F in any light. Heck, a G looks like popcorn sitting by itself on a sheet of paper. I can't even imagine how yellow an I would look.
My eyes aren't fine tuned to color, especially compared to womens' eyes, but I'd notice how yellow an I was before I noticed the inclusions.
I guess if it's in a gold ring the color doesnt matter.

/shrug Ive hardly noticed any difference. Cut and clarity stood out 10x more than getting a slightly higher color grade from what I've looked at. Then again who really cares I guess because no one is going to be looking at her ring under a microscope.

Man, Craigslist is so sketchy. just wasted my time on someone trying to get me to send it to Nigeria and they even sent me a phony Paypal email and everything. Someone else seems to be trying to pull the same shit. Its a shame.

So yeah, diamond is still available.

well I can't deal with Craigs list anymore I don't think. I'm going to drop the price to $2500 for TWW just because I feel better about it on here. So if anyone is interested in taking a look please let me know.

I know the diamond has taken a beating from some people in this thread but I recommend if you are at all interested in getting a diamond larger than 1 carat to take a look at this one. I honestly don't see any imperfections and I don't think you will come close to getting a diamond this size for this cheap.
