I'd like to restart this router every few days. Best way to do this?

is there not a way to power cycle the router in it's configuration?

i think you'd be better off getting a timered outlet and setting that to cut power and then turn back on.

Any reason you want to restart it? Maybe it would be better for you in the long run to address whatever problem is causing you to reboot it all the time.

Get a new router, or try upgrading the firmware.

I had a wrt54g (version 2) that kept locking up when we would max out the download. We upgraded to the new linksys firmware (and eventually to dd-wrt) and we had no problems. I haven't had to reboot in months.

you should be able to do this with SNMP if you install dd-wrt

however, installing dd-wrt will probably preclude the need to reboot the router every few days.

checked dd-wrt and open-wrt, wrt54gp is not supported.

Yea I was researching it after you said it wasn't supported. That sucks and I'd highly suggest a new router, unless you needed that VOIP ability.

found this windows gui automation tool called autoit v3 (free). I am trying to generate a script to record the router restart process and schedule it with windows scheduler.
