at least in NFL overtime, they don't put you 5 yards outside the red zone and render the punting and punt return game completely void before forcing you to go for 2 after a couple overtimes

not really...they looked at the overall numbers at some point last year and its damn near 50/50 as far as who gets the coin toss and who wins

honestly i think the best way to have overtime would be to simply add another 15 minute "quarter" to the game

It's boring, besides basketball, i'd honestly rather watch a classic college football game that's almost always on one of the sports channel or nfl network as opposed to the olympics.

@ the overtime people:

Until 1994 the winner of the NFL OT coin toss was 95-93-13. From 1994 to present, the winner of the coin toss is 122-80. Some attribute this to the 1994 rule changes: kickoffs were moved back from the 35 yard line to the 30, and thye went from 3" kickoff tees to 1" kickoff tees. This was to increase offense and scoring, but it might have had the side effect of ruining overtime.

Is the audio on NBC HD out of sync for anyone else? I noticed it last week during the Hall of Fame game, and again tonight. The SD channel is fine, but on the HD channel the video is ahead of the audio by enough that people's mouths clearly don't match their words.
