The wife is really getting into texas hold'em, which is awesome because I love to play. Heads up with real cards gets a little boring pretty quick.
I want to find a way to play multiplayer with her and me + bots. Any thoughts? I've got PCs, 1 xbox360 and 1 wii.
My only idea so far is to get into one of the online poker sites and try and get on the same table as her - but then we're playing on "Free" tables where people don't play at all rationally (always raising and calling with bullshit). And I'm fairly certain the online poker sites crack down on people they see coming from the same IP or always playing at the same tables.
Ideas? 8/8/2008 12:25:33 PM |

Hmmm.... 1) get more friends. 2)Play online - they only crack down when $$ is involved. The free tables I would imagine are largely unpoliced. 3)There are some 'bot' THE games, but I've never seen one with multiplayer - you could try the back of the box on one from wal-mart in the 6.99 section.
Hope this helps 8/8/2008 12:29:07 PM |

I think this is a good question. Are there any multi-player clients where you can host your own games and play with friends via the internet? 8/8/2008 1:50:46 PM |

darkone -
I found one that looks like it does what I want. It's called "DD Poker 2". You can play only 2 players and it has the option to fill the rest of the seats with AI. You can host a game on a LAN or on the internet. I haven't been able to test it yet though.
I have looked through several of he "Box" games like Hoyle, Sierra, etc, but none of them do multiplayer and bots/AI.
One of the posters mentioned using fake money tables, but as I mentioned in my original post, people on fake money tables do not play Texas Hold'em realisticaly because if they run out of "money", they get more "money" for free. It's pretty silly. 8/8/2008 2:39:38 PM |
