I was more referring to the Perseid Meteor Shower that should be coming through Monday night/Tuesday morning...any real suggestions would be great.

Jordan Lake?

I also like Edward's Mill Rd. near the arena but up the hill in the direction of Crabtree. Reedy Creek Rd is right there which makes a nice place to get off the main road. I dragged the chica out there last night for her first ISS sighting. It was a good one at 3mins and 31degrees.

Also you can try going down Lake Wheeler Rd. There is a lot of open space out near Ten Ten Rd and a number of small turn offs for parking.

I'd have to check spaceweather.com to see from which direction the meteors are coming from but if it's out of the east the Jordan Lake probably isn't the best because you will be looking back into Raleigh and all of the light pollution. Lake Wheeler Rd would be a good pick or making the trip out 64 towards Knightdale.
