I tried setting it up and ended up messing the hard drive up. I have a vista cd i installed on the damaged hard drive so the vista d/l went with the hard drive although ive been told that I can call microsoft up for a new registration key.

The new hard drive came as OEM... so i need a cable to connect it to the motherboard ( which i dont have ). I'd also like to install some other hardware... so helping me update drives and other things would be required.

$100 to someone who actually knows what they're doing and gets my system up and running. I dont know how long it will take but I think $100 is well worth someones time.

If we cant get the computer/system up and running and I need some extra stuff * which i highly doubt *... then I'll give you half of the $100 and then the other half once i get the stuff and we finish setting up the computer with everything working fine.

You should put that $100 towards getting a Mac

But, that is actually a fairly reasonable amount of $$$ for what you're asking. I'd do it but i'm just too lazy.

^ you're paying for reliability and ease of use: http://theappleblog.com/2007/04/24/apple-desktops-notably-reliable-says-consumer-reports/

Plus, that study doesn't really consider all the variables. Apple's margins on PCs are still only in the 5-7% range, which is in-line with the rest of the industry. And they may use the same chipsets, but they are still custom layouts with certain custom features (particularly in the laptops) that differentiate them from other boards.

so, $100 to install vista onto a new hard drive and mount it in your case? if I don't have to install any other apps I'll do this. I'll just install your OS and enough drivers to get you going to install everything else yourself.

how did you mess up the original hard drive? I'm guessing the original hard drive doesn't have the same connector as the new one since you said you don't have the cable.
