No dude, a contract is a contract and I have a duty to fulfill. Shouldn't be that bad this time around especially since it was really bad when I was there the first time. We're almost finished and I'm going to help finish it.

At least I got promoted and I'm a Sergeant now.

Afripino, the war I feel is almost over. It's that feeling I get. But if there's anything about my experience in the Army that I've learned, it's "Hope for the best, expect the worst... always." Everything else is beyond your control.

very few jobs require that you risk your life for some unappreciative jackasses.

those who do so deserve your gratitude.

^^The best way I can answer that question for you is through someone else's words I heard in Iraq when he re-enlisted while he was there. I'm quoting him because what he said made sense to me in ways that I never personally saw things before that. I felt it was so profound, that I remembered his speech almost word for word. It was something like this:

"Going home I found people at odds about what we do here and why we do it. I've been called 'warmonger' and I've been called a 'peacemaker' in whatever light they hold me. I don't re-enlist because I believe in this war and not because I came here to make peace, but I have to think of my country as though it were my spouse: I love her with every fiber of my being, and no matter what her intentions are and how much I may agree or disagree with her, she will have my full support in whatever she asks me to do, right or wrong. I would do anything for her. Republican or Democrat or whatever side people choose, I don't fight for one party's beliefs or for my personal beliefs, we fight for it all. Her [America's] life was threatened, and no one threatens my spouse.

People in America always brags about our history of victory and winning a war, but no one, including myself, is ever proud of actually being in one. I don't want this for myself, but she needs me, and I'll do all that I can."

lol. umm...you don't support the wrong. otherwise, you're both wrong. and that's just not right. if her intentions aren't pure, you need to divorce the bitch or set her straight. one or the other.

^To that I'd say, you didn't choose to join the Army, so that's not something you chose to think... which is fine. Without belief, why do it at all? That's something that he decided for himself. He chose to act on what he believed, which is what I found most inspiring. I don't remember who said this, but I think it goes something like 'the greatest sin man can commit is the choice of doing nothing at all.'"

Besides, if you want to, leave this bitch... There's more than 300 other countries out there.

Anything? Right or wrong? That's just fucked up. If your spouse asks you to go kill innocent people, you will? To rape, to plunder, to torture, to lie, to cheat...?

Iraq didn't threaten America. And even if it did, there was no way Iraq could have attacked America. And by "threatened", you actually do mean "attacked".

Obviously, your buddy has fallen for the Iraq = 9/11 line that Bush has been indirectly indoctrinating the idiots of the country with. The last time such a poll was conducted, how many people believed that Iraq = 9/11? It wa something like 30%, wasn't it? GG Bush. You [Bush] will burn in hell.

Hitler acted on what he believed....does Hitler inspire you as well?

as far as leaving, I'm not a cut and runner either. I just think there's a difference between "blind faith" and "belief".
