Make her watch Event Horizon in the dark. It's not that scary but it will make her scream.

You will mostly get "ironic" responses to this thread (shortbus? the lion king?) because I find that very few people actually like scary movies. Most prefer to brag about not being scared, as if they should be given points for realizing "it's just an actor in a mask" or "just cgi". WTG my friend for refusing to suspend your disbelief.

i'm just saying...an all-gay threesome is pretty scary if you're afraid of gays

i'm not a fan of horror/"scary" movies as much as suspenseful ones, and you can't beat psycho for that

and because i knew it was real, the last half hour of death proof scared the shit out of me, even after i had seen it twice

Aztec, In terms of something you probably haven't watched, Diary of the Dead was actually kind of subpar compared with other recent zombie movies, but I thought it was still really enjoyable and had several good scares. Of course, unlike J-Horror films, this will not be a fear that stays with you after seeing the movie.

I had fun watching people get tickets to Shortbus. They would even say the title as low as possible so others in line wouldn't hear them.

http://www.best-horror-movies.com/100-greatest-horror-movies.html

and 28 days letter is far superior to 28 weeks later. unless you just want mindless action(compared to the first one anyway, it's still decent though iirc.)

Event Horizon scared the shit out of me in high school...but not so much now. I still think its got its creepy moments and given the right situation, it could scare me a little again...but its lost its "scariest movie I've ever seen" quality. However, I wonder if that's because I've seen it so many times.

And I fucking hate IT because I hate clowns. Same goes for Arachnaphobia. Fuck spiders.

The Mothman Prophecies?

Not sure if everyone would consider it scary or not (more creepy/suspenseful)

Somebody told me the other day that this was the scariest movie they had ever seen. I was like..."wait, wut? really?"

I mean...it was definitely interesting and kinda creepy...but I would never think to put it up there as one of the scariest movies I've ever seen.

Mothman is sorta creepy.

Apparently it references some odd disorder which has yet to be understood scientifically. I was watching it and my mom walked through, was like oh yea, two of your distant cousins who live in WV both were diagnosed with that.

yea, thinking back on the movie it never has any "make you jump" type scenes

I think the movie is one of my favorites b/c they never really show you the mothman (which is somewhat rare for a scary movie these days) and b/c of ^ its based on true events that happened fairly close by.

I use to LOVE scary movies til I watched "The Grudge." I had nightmares for months from that movie and then previews for the grudge 2 came out and I had to turn the channel anytime they came on.

And Event Horizon is a great movie. Highly entertaining and still giving a good scare without going over the top - as in i can still watch it again
