I kind of a have a love / hate relationship with these guys. I mean, I'm all about low-impact and sustainability, I dig music festivals, and I think that we should go ahead and end the war on drugs . . . but why must you guys insist on being just, so, so out there? That and you're selfish. Hardcore hippies are insanely selfish.

yeah. I mean communal living is nice in theory, but it doesn't work in practice. It has no mechanisms for preventing free-loaders and, while many hippies share within their drum circle of friends, they can be intolerant of people who aren't interested in "sharing" what they've actually worked for with people who aren't willing to work for much of anything.

That being said, while it makes perfect evolutionary sense, the current measurement of a man (or woman) by their ability to consume conspicuously is pretty disgusting to me.
