I started shaving the area kind of by accident when a trimming operation went awry and I had to choose between clearing the whole thing or having a bald spot. Now I wouldn't want to go back. It feels better, cleaner. More importantly, it resulted in a dramatic increase in quantity and quality of head I got, though admittedly this was after fifteen minutes of my then-girlfriend pointing at it and laughing.

I've never nicked the area, either. Apparently I have a natural talent for shaving balls, or just a very robust scrotum. Maybe I should start putting that on resumes.
