Was at wal-mart about to once again contemplate spending $30 for the long shot, when I saw this thing for $40 and had to have it.

Battery powered, chain fed, and fully automatic. This thing is massive, but also is pretty much the most badass NERF gun ever made. It comes with 2 25 shot ammo chain, and I got another ammo belt for like $7.50.

I haven't actually used the full auto yet, because it takes 6 D cell batteries, and I haven't used those in like 10 years.

Here's a video of some douchebag and his younger brother talking about and firing it though.

Yeah I may sometime, but they are in the ammo chain rather than the barrel.

So I'll have to do it 75 times.

[Edited on August 19, 2008 at 12:10 AM. Reason : since I have 3 chains]

my brother and i used to have nerf wars. we eventually resorted to throwing the darts to make them go faster. plus, if you moisten the suction cup on the end of the dart, it'll also possibly stick to the forehead of whoever you are shooting

How much are D cell batteries anyway?

This thing's charge had better last forever with 6 D cell batteries.

not too bad, how many rounds have you gone through, and have you had to replace them or noticed it firing slower yet?

i've run though the whole chain a number of times and recovered them all

it occasionally jams, which is a bit of a pain to pry the orange cover off to fix

[Edited on August 19, 2008 at 10:50 AM. Reason : rate of fire seems fairly consistent]

Just picked up some cheap batteries at Family Dollar.

I think it shoots farther when you cock it manually, but the automatic fire is still pretty awesome.

eh... I wasn't impressed with the performance of Bigman's gun. [no homo]

I think I prefer the rapidfire. Seems much more reliable.

side note: I found a rare oldschool nerf airtech pistol at family dollar yesterday. +1 nerf collection.

I got one last week as well. Once I had it, then my best friend and one of his coworkers also went and got one each. They are having crazy Nerf gun wars at work now. For $40, it's definitely worth it. I can't wait to see how people mod it. With the exposed battery contacts underneath, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone try to hook it up to a car battery.

I would love to paint this thing like I did my Mavericks, but I have heard it takes over 30 minutes and 20+ screws just to take it apart, and I don't even want to think about putting it back together.

^^^ Are those yours?

I'm thinking about doing mine similar. The "inner workings," will be black or dark grey, while the parts that would be plastic and the casing and such will be a dark green.

I'm probably not going to paint the hand grip or the handle on top though, the grip felt sticky for months after I painted the Maverick.

I think I'm going to drybrush it whenever I paint it.

I just tested it on a broken Crossbow I have, and it's easier than I thought it would be.

Repainted my NB1 and my Missilestorm also.

NB1

Missilestorm

I'm redoing my Arrowstorm too, black and red, but the only red I had was this enamel that takes forever to dry.

I'm leaning toward using the Missilestorm color for the Vulcan. Also I think I'll repaint my Mavericks, or at least go over them with the drybrush technique.
