which do you guys prefer out of:
Alamo
Budget
Avis
National
Hertz

alamo and budget are the cheapest. and yes it has to be one on the list.

I've rented from all of the above.

I tend to use Alamo/national the most b/c they are the cheapest, and have never had any problems.

I've also had good experiences with Avis. They are pretty good about negotiating. Whenever I go to Utah or colorado I'll book a cheapo car, and negotiate a free upgrade to a 4x4. Last time I went to utah, I paid for a malibu, and drove a suburban.

I've only rented from avis and hertz. Hertz was a complete pain to deal with. Avis wasn't spectacular, but they didn't give me any big problems.

dad uses national it seems pretty easy he does all his booking online, goes in picks out a car drives out the door shows the gate lady the receipt

hertz. only b/c i get upgraded and get a cheaper rate than any other company.

enterprise has been great too.

LOTS of mastercard discounts.

if you work for a large company, they might have a deal you can use, even if you aren't working.
