Anyone else going to be picking this up today?

I've been semi keeping track of it since the rumors in 99...almost 10 years later it looks like it'll be a kickass game!

I'd be down for forming a pool of people that'd want to co-op together!

Still haven't played the demo. I was really excited, but I heard it's kinda shitty. 1UP gave it a C- and IGN gave it a 7.8, so I'll probably wait until it's in the bargain bin at least.

I could not even get the demo to work, it just kept recycling the "Press Start" screen which is like a 5-10 minute dialogue with an electronic tree....


Pressing start did nothing

ok so i played the demo lastnight and the story seems pretty cool for the parts that I saw

however this one thing that really stands out.... in a bad way


the controls absolutely blow ass

Picked this up yesterday, Have a berserker up to level 18.
The game is very fun, but controls are definately a bit difficult to grasp. Not having one o the joysticks controlling your point of view is hard to get over.
But, once you do, gameplay is fun, and it has a pretty good droprate on very good items.
At level 18, ive had 2 orange quality item recipes, and ~10 purple quality item recipes drop.

Think i might start over as a new class today to get the feel for another one.

Oh yeah, and as far as berserker, I went human, but think I should have gone android for the extra health. Dying an awful lot so far.

I played it for a couple of hours last night as a Champion. I'm enjoying it so far.

I think I'm just glad to be playing an Action-RPG that's not Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Yeah I picked up my copy yesterday, played through around 1/2 way through the ice fortress....lvl 12 bioengineer.

So far I'm loving this game. The controls are a little difficult to get used to, but once you understand the twitch system and can chain you lunges, finishers, and ruiners you're rockin all!

Bein a bio is a bit of a bitch only 'cause of the low damage output, but I figure once I reroll to a melee or commando that it'll make things that much easier.

Its extremely similar to Diablo in its RPGishness. 5 Character classes (more possibly with DLC, so says SK) each with their own skill tree that further tweaks out your character. Lvl to 50 apparently in this installment (supposed to be a trilogy)

I am sooo on the fence about this game. I haven't played the demo so I can't judge from that. I was really planning on buying this game until I saw the bad reviews. I usually don't buy games that are reviewed low because I bought Enter the Matrix despite low reviews and that absolutely SUCKED. Then again, I enjoyed MK: DD!! and it got a 7.9. So, what's the verdict? Should I buy this game or not?

7.5 or above can be seen as decent really. anything below an 8 you should actually have been interested in before or know someone else who plays. anything below a 7 should take great consideration.

the controls take some getting used to but all in all I have enjoyed this game.

I beat it earlier today with a lvl 28 Champion

Played the demo. It was pretty fun I guess. My only question is, how do you juggle enemies? The demo only says use the right stick(no crap). I can't get them to fly up in the air for nothing.

I just started over as a Berserker.

Just insane. A hell of a lot better than the Champion I played on my first playthrough
A lot more fun too

well, i'm about through on my first play through, and I had a few thoughts.

The valkyrie didn't turn out to be nearly as annoying as I thought, and I've gotten kind of used to it. I am a little disappointed thought that now since all of the baddies level up with me (of course) that as the beserker, all I'm doing is either the long distance RS + LS ^ where it shoots out, or just constantly juggling enemies in the air and jumping up there for the finisher (again, RS + LS ^). I enjoyed it much more in the beginning when the low level villains could be killed in one shot, so I was constantly sliding all over the map killing everything.

The camera has been a big thorn in my side most of the game, as several times I keep hitting LB to get it to look one way, and it refuses, but whatever.

Also, I can't wait for a game in which they program the AI of your teammates to equal the AI of the enemies. It is absolutely retarded the things they are doing, all the while the enemy is running past them to attack me. Joy.

Only having 2 charm slots really limits the power you could have in your swings I think, as I would much rather have about 3-4 slots (or maybe 2 equipped slots, and 2 "in progress" slots)

I'm sure i'll play through this a few times to get most of the achievements, but I doubt I'll get the one where you have to get every class up to level 40 (I think that's the max level). How many play throughs would you have to do to get that? I'm in the final level, near the end (I'm assuming...won't ruin it, but I just was ambushed by the biggest boss I've seen), and I'm only level 27. And what used to be a quick process of gaining a level about every 10 minutes, now it seems to take forever. I'm not sure if you gain less exp if you use your distant attack, but I don't really feel like dying every 30 seconds, so i don't rush in there.

Oh, and i'm sure it's in the manual, but I didn't figure out until after I gained my sentient ability that there are actually 2 skill trees that you can level up in. Who would have know.

Anyway, I got it through goozex, so I didn't actually spend any money on it. I'll probably play through with each character once, then trade it away.

I now know what it feels like to raid in a game like WoW though, these levels never seem to end.

Well, it looks like I'm the only one still playing this, but I think I'm about done with it

I've put in probably around 40+ hours or so. I can't stop playing it for some reason.

Berserker is definitely the most fun to play, but the easiest to die as.

I think the only achievements I won't get in this game are the 7 piece epic set, and completing without dying in the ice forest
