Where I work they say you're supposed to be able to drop it two stories and it'll still work, but none of us have tested it yet. Mine has definately gotten slammed around from the looks of it (we rotate cameras and TBs so I'm not sure who used mine last summer/spring).

we use these for our PCR computers and our in-truck CAD consoles/IVN on the ambulances

those things are built like fucking tanks

i've dropped one a time or two and i've never had a problem... they see some serious abuse on the trucks, you can just look at the casing and tell...

they use 'em in the desert over there, and from what I've seen, the toughbook can really take some punishment before it just stops working.

bs. i doubt it would survive 1 story if it landed on anything hard

they are the g-shock of the laptop world.

they are REALLY tough. use them in pouring rain. really hot weather (if you have it plugged in). everything has a gasket.

really heavy, not as powerful as the higher end laptops.

can be used to shield yourself and others from bullets.
