McCain certainly has a legal right to cash those checks, but it speaks poorly of his character in my opinion.

The Social Security system is obviously broken, he's said so himself, and we will eventually come to a point where can't pay out to all of the people who have paid in. So yes, he HAS earned that money, but I find it irresponsible and reprehensible that someone with his wealth and stature would take money that could go into the hands of someone else who has earned it just as equally and doesn't have the means to support themselves otherwise.

Obama is the last person who should be talking about anyone's houses. Obama has had dealings with Rezko and is very wealthy himself. John Kerry, John Edwards, and the Clintons are vastly wealthy as well. I would like to see how their houses stack up against McCain's. It is ridiculous for Democrats to try to make John McCain look bad or dumb because he isn't sure how many houses he owns. McCain's wife is extremely wealthy and he may not even deal with everything going on with their family finances. He could have made up an number, but he didn't. He manned up and said that he or his staff would find out. Ok, so let's move on. The conversations need to focus on real issues like how we are going to keep this country safe, keep taxes down, and ensure that we have energy available to us in the future. There are many other issues that I didn't list, and I sure as heck don't care about how many houses that ANY rich people have. Aside from inheritances, wealthy people made decisions in their lives that brought them a great amount of success. That is the beauty of our economy. If you work hard then you can be successful and prosperous. People should not have to work hard to earn their just rewards and then have to turn around and give a large chunk of their income to the government to pay for excessive programs like Obama is suggesting. I'm not a big fan of McCain, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to have Obama as our next president.
