if there's already a thread, fuck it

Quote :
"The Triangle’s big three universities held steady in the latest list of “America’s Best Colleges” from U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News’ annual list, the most widely cited college rankings, again placed Duke University at No. 8 – the same position Duke held in both 2006 and 2007.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill remained No. 5 among public universities behind the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Virginia, UCLA and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Overall, UNC dropped two spots to No. 30, where it placed just behind Massachusetts’ Tufts University and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.

But UNC again topped U.S. News’ “Great Schools, Great Prices” list.

North Carolina State University came in at No. 83 overall and 37th among publics. NCSU was No. 85 in 2007 and No. 81 in 2006.

At the top of the list, Harvard University displaced last year’s champ, Princeton University. Princeton was No. 2, while Yale University was No. 3.

In a separate listing of liberal arts colleges, Davidson College placed No. 9.

And in the list of historically black colleges and universities, Elizabeth City State University placed No. 12, tied with Winston-Salem State University. North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro and North Carolina Central University in Durham tied at No. 15."

i don't remember exactly, but i'm sure it says on the site

it's not the best metric, but schools within about 10 positions of one another are prolly gonna be roughly equivalent in overall quality
