I'm considering one from BuiltNY, but if there is anything better, I'm open to suggestions.

Tucano and MobileEdge both make neoprene laptop sleeves that you can find for about 2/3 the cost of the BuiltNY ones. They also look much less like the world's gayest pillows.

I like the Mobile Edge ones a bit more than the tucano ones, but they're all basically the same.

any good ones that have a pocket exclusively for the power brick? I have a nice, smooth flat sleep for my MacBook Pro, and it has a pocket on one side that covers the entire side. but when I put my power supply inside it, the whole shape is distorted.
Why doesn't anyone make a sleeve that has an extra pocket that is just the right size for a power supply without stretching or distorting the rest of the pack?

Timbuk2 makes pretty nice ones. I like a lot of Incase's stuff too.

I like this one because you can insert it into a bookbag or whatever and open it from either end. Also the handles allow you to carry it from either end. Simple but I enjoy mine.

i'm iffy on something that only uses velcro to secure the flap that you carry it with.

I was skeptical at first as well. the placement of the handles doesn't pull on the velcro, and the strips are wide/long enough that i can hold the case upside down and shake it and my computer is secure.

like i said, i really like it because i can remove my laptop from a bookbag or other bag without removing the case first.

i dig that. do they carry it in the store as well as online?

if so, i'll just go there.

[Edited on August 25, 2008 at 2:22 PM. Reason : how bulky is it, will it fit a 15.4" widescreen laptop? it doesn't say online.]
