I have an LG cell phone (VX5200) that turns on completely normal and acts normal except I don't receive calls and when I try to make a call it says it's dialing the number but never goes through....I can't check my messages either. What the fuck is wrong with this thing and how can I fix it?

indeed. although I do know that last time my contract came up and i got a new phone, it wouldnt receive incoming calls for like 3 days (it could make outgoing though). and they claimed they couldnt do anything and that it would fix itself. it did but it was pretty stupid.

sounds like an issue with your account. Better call your service provider.

LG phones do not suck. I have a VX8300 from Verizon. It survived a 15 min swim in Smith Mountain Lake. The phone was on when I got in. I got out. Took the battery out and let it sit in a bag of rice for 2 days. Got home on Sunday, charged it up and it's been working ever since. The screens are even back to normal.

Does anyone have a LG AX300? It is time to ditch Sprint, and I'm looking at that or the Samsung MyShot. (I'm a low end cell phone consumer, I just want good call quality and an alarm clock.)

OP, something sorta the same happened to me. You should be able to reset it through the settings menu. I tried looking on my phone for it, but I can't find it Call your service provider and request help to reset it. You will lose your personal settings, but you should maintain your contacts. There was some glitch in the software update and my phone couldn't send packages to certain towers even though I could recieve them (hence I showed a signal).

Get a phone from these guys. My blackberry broke for Sprint and these guys had some crazy low prices and shipped the same day.

/shrug LG phones have seemed extremely reliable from anyone that I've ever talked to that had one. One of the reasons I'm switching to an LG phone in a few weeks.

Don't do it. Cause you're talking to me now, and my LG was the most unreliable phone I've had.

i appreciate it. but the specific phone im planning to get I have been able to talk to several friends who have had the phone for like 6 mos plus and not had a problem. In my family, I have a motorola and the rest of my family has an LG (i even spent a little more on mine back when I got it to not get the base model like they did, a lot of good that did me ha) and mine has crapped out tons since I got it and none of them have had any problems :/

so hopefully ill be fine. samsung is the only other manuf that makes a phone like i want on verizon anyways :/

I don't like Motorola either, I need a new phone now. The best phone I've owned was an old bar stlye Nokia.

I concur. I don't like LG anything. Had an ENV for a while, and it seemed to work alright, but the damn power connector came unsoldered from the board. The phone performance wasn't what I would call spectacular either.

I've had quite a few Samsung phones and had few, if any, issues with them. Even after rolling over one while on a creeper working on cars.

Nokia is tops, though, in my opinion.

Nokia was always reliable in the past, however they don't make any phones I would consider getting on Verizon. They are all still pretty bare bones stuck in the stone ages as far as phone features outside of making a call.
