its going to be a good season. bowl guaranteed(healthy). listen why...

very embarrassing loss but nowhere near the score if you actually watched the game. theres so much to display so I will just put it into numbered topics.

overall the team has a night and day look from last year. definately well coached group that looks like they know what they are doing out there and how to do it. People are complaining about the oline well keep in mind that usc has a top dline in the nation and our oline was dominating them when wilson went out. Evans just through point blank interceptions and larsen had bad communication with evans so the injury to wilson is the only thing to blame.

1.biggest surprise is that the defense is amazing. absolutely nothing given up on the ground and they are making plays and picking stuff off. very discipline and just stingy overall. yes that changed in the 4th qtr but that was after they realized the offense wasn't going to score and all the hard work was pointless. also morgan went out and the other db got burned (remember both safeties are out as well) In the first half they were better than any ncstate defense I've seen if you factor in discipline.

2.wilson looked promising. the question of the year is will he and all these other guys come back. the 2nd team offense played tonight. and the defense played great short 3dbs. just imagine the possibilities of a full strength team? eugene? baker? everybody else?

3.where is the true center? why aren't they returning kicks? evans and larsen were respsonible for 24 of uscs points.

4.why would you give another game to evans. i just don't understand that. regardless of injuries he should be last on the depth chart.

With a dominating dline and guys that can pick off everything all you need is a decent offense that doesn't turn it over and you are suddenly a contender to win any game. If this team gets healthy watch out.

I think we will be better than we looked today. Wilson won't be out for the season, Eugine is coming back, we play Duke and Carolina.

Somewhere between 4-8 and 6-6.

I'm not sold on our defense. Yeah they got turnovers and stopped the run for 3 quarters, but we have to remember, the only thing supposedly stopping USC from being a top 10 team is their O. Their O is suppose to be really bad, so I'm not ready to bet much on our young D right now.

right?

is that ok with everyone ?? our quarterback went out so we stopped playing... and no one minds that ?

the "gassed in the fourth quarter" excuse is atleast solid because we had to play almost 10 MORE minutes on defense than SC

Possession NCSTATE 25:03 USC 34:57

but saying

is pretty bush league

i didnt say anything about us being gassed in the 4th quarter, i meant emotionally they were drained when he got hurt. from what id been hearing from some of the players they were all real high on wilson

tough shit?

injuries happen. it's their responsibility to not have an emotional fall off when things go wrong.

I'm wouldn't call it an "emotional fall off," but dating back to last season, this team simply doesn't look like they're trying when Evans is in the game.

christ it was his first college game.... he is going to be not as sharp as possible... imagine if we opened with William and Mary, win big, give wilson confidence and then face usc on the road... huge difference in play

Honestly, this will be good. They prepared all season for a huge game against USC, which will make them better in the long run. There have been some big injuries (Jamelle Eugene is not really one of them, he should be returning kicks and spelling Brown if he needs it). We will get a lot more experience out of the backups, and when most of the players improve (give them a game or two) the O and D will look a lot better, and without spending most of their time on D, it will make them significantly better. I still think this can be a bowl team.

I'm hoping for competency. Seriously, USC threw four interceptions and State couldn't even come away with three points?

And I don't know if you were watching a game with another quarterback named Wilson but in the one I saw, he was horrible. Did you not notice that he only threw one completion and every single pass he made was to the sidelines?

a bowl team? you realize you need to win six games to go to a bowl, right? typical ncsu fan, so delusioned by the fact that they think we are a contender that they forget our entire athletics program is a piece of shit.

^^^rebuilding with Chuck Amato doesn't count.

^^Wilson looked like he was starting to turn things around when he got knocked out of the game. The O-line gave him no chance really.

The way I see the game is this:

1. Outside of the 4th quarter, 10 of their 13 points came because of bad turnovers that seem fixable.
2. Our starting RB ran for over 100 yards.
3. Our defense was a beast for three quarters, got gassed and Spurrier just ran over us.
4. We were sustaining a drive before Russell Wilson.

There is reason for hope, we'll go 2-3 in our first 5 games though.

HAY GUYS, FARNOLD DEGAND WAS REALLY TURNING A CORNER WHEN HE GOT HURT.

shut up, he looked terrible. our RUNNING BACKS were turning things around, but that had nothing to do w/ wilson.

i was at the game so i didn't get to read all the hate for wilson until now

his numbers weren't great, but he was obviously getting more confident as the game went on and you could tell the team was responding to it. he didn't look good throwing the ball but we all know Evans will suck worse and throw a couple of picks in the process... Wilson at least gave the defense something else to think about

so he has a grade-three concussion... that's at least 2 weeks and probably more, right?

just a little side note -- I think it's funny how Evans just kind of stands on the sidelines all by himself most of the time, like nobody ever comes up and talks to him... like they hate him or something, which honestly wouldn't surprise me because our heads went down when Wilson came out and stayed down the rest of the game

^^Yeah, a freshman QB playing in his first game against an SEC team on the road is the same thing as a point guard playing Cincinnati at home. Great comparison.

it's the same in that both of their injuries will be used as a scape goat for their respective season, when in actuality both seasons were fucked with or without them.

I don't think anyone's going to use Wilson's injury as a scapegoat for the season, I don't think we would've won with him healthy the whole game. We just wouldn't have lost by 34.
