we fished i think for 5 hours and didnt catch much. we were fly fishing and using worms to try for some bass mainly. we then were headed in at about 8:30 when we decided to try shrimping a little.

shrimped for about 3.5 hours and caught a good 10-12 lbs of jumbo shrimp and caught more and bigger fish with the casting nets then earlier.
two out of the three of us had never cast netted before.

straight ridiculous


also, last night and tonight we drank 16 sodas between three guys. fucking wired right now

we need another smaller net though because the one i was using had two or three holes in it. and i still caught a good 5 lbs of shrimp with it. plus it was my first time

Every time I go to EI i go to the docks after hitting the bars and throw cast nets for shrimp. Usually get enough for a good late night snack or for lunch the next day. A couple summers ago I snagged a really nice sized flounder. How you catch a flounder in a cast net, I'll never know, but it happened.

oh i agree...those motherfuckers are fast...before i figured out the proper refractory adjustment to make to compensate for the illusion the water brings, i spooked a few flounders and those dudes haul ass out of their sand burrows
