^the hold thing doesn't matter, unless they've changed something in the newest version (what are they on now?)

press center & hold at the same time. wait 6-10 seconds. gay apple shows up

\/ booya motherfucker. every recent generation Ipod I've seen works by holding the center and menu button. I was just asking in case the newest generation was different (I don't think I've played with any of those).

yeh, unless that's something new, like I was asking before. I think the hold thing is all about making sure that the switch isn't hung up.

My Geek says "middle button, top button, same time, 5 seconds."

Knowing how to reset your iPod is awesome. You have no idea how many customers come in and that's all the need...

go to apple store, ask the tech the same question, tech will give you a funny smug look, throw ipod at his head. Profit.

while we're on the topic....

i've got a 160gb classic, last generation.

im overseas now, and unable to access my computer with itunes, etc.

the night before last, put it in the safe in the hotel room, all fine, 1/2 battery charge left.

yesterday morning, bricked.

wouldn't turn on, couldn't reset. plugged it into a computer w/o itunes, the computer recognizes a usb device, but i cant mount it. let it "charge" or whatever for a few hours, disconnected, still cant reset.

am i fucked?

it appears i'm doomed to a 35+ hour trip this saturday with no ipod.

I should learn my lesson, this would make my 4th straight ipod that's bit the dust.
