right now we've got a 2 person tube that u can sit in. pretty unstable with 1 person. nows the time to buy, lots of them are about half off. I've been checking out http://www.overtons.com

what'chyall think? this is for lake towing. want something fun and fairly easy to handle.

This is what we got for my parent's boat this season. My niece and nephew love it - and its a smooth enough ride that even my Mom will get on! Its loads of fun, but you don't get "beat up" as much. Harder to flip, but you can definitely bounce off. Even though its for 3 people, 1 in the middle or 2 on the sides keep things pretty even. We got it at Costco for closer to $100 than the $150 list price.

You can't go wrong with the Obrien LeTube. I've had one of those things for over 15 years.

^ive heard good tings about obrien, and they are a bit costly.

^^well we already have a 2 person tube, thats good for the kids and stuff and for us to go together. but i want something that will be fun with one person.

the 2 person is also a bit large, you're spreading your arms wide as can be. i dont know, maybe thats normal.

[Edited on September 7, 2008 at 12:40 PM. Reason : but good call on costco, ive got a $50 gift card there. hopefully ill find something]

It's like $60, but it's worth it if the cover doesn't rip in half after one season.

they are rare because so many people have gotten seriously hurt with them that no one will sell them

yeah, ive read up on that.

the other one was the kite or something.

looks really cool.

but the boat we use is a heavy one. 2 115HP motors to move a 5500lb boat.

it actually moves decently fast, but i dont think it will go quick enough for the flying tubes..

It doesn't take much speed. 30MPH or so I think. They'll kill you though. Tons of people broke necks, backs, etc. Check out some of the vids on Youtube.

Those flying tubes are also ILLEGAL on any lake managed by the Army Core of Engineers. Expect a big ticket if caught using one.
