I think that I could feed a 3rd world country with my boobs. I had my kid 8 months ago and I am not breastfeeding, but I am still lactating.

And there is nothing more embarrassing than randomly soaking through a bra and shirt.

What I did really could not be called breastfeeding by any stretch of the imagination.

Silas could not be breastfed because of the cleft palate. I pumped and Silas did get some breastmilk, but he spent so much time in the hospital being fed via NG tube that I had difficulty producing enough for him to be fed solely breastmilk. In the end, he needed to be fed special high calorie formula. And he continues on high calorie formula with small amounts of breastmilk that I manually express for him.

I am kinda hoping that my milk supply continues until after he has his cleft palate repair in December and that I can start to breastfeed then.

Oh yes, I am one of those crazies who has no problem breastfeeding a child who is old enough to unbutton her blouse.

Well then you need to express the milk -- lots of it -- and freeze it. It can be forzen for a year and still be OK to use it. If there is some leftover, you can sell/donate it to breastfeeding groups where women gather to buy/sell breast milk.
