easy out of conference schedule leads to 11-1 record going into conference play. i could see an 12-6 conference record. 23-7 (before the PAC-10 tourney) gets ASU into the NCAA tourney where they'll likely be a 2 or 3 seed

Harden will be a Naismith finalist and should be the front-runner for PAC10 POY. Herb WILL win Coach of the Year.

Dickie V has them #18 preseason
Katz has them #15
Rivals.com has them at #26

Fuck the scum devils, maybe they would make the tourney this year if Herb actually scheduled some halfway challenging non conference matchups

The only PAC 10 team that can and will improve besides ASU is OSU, who was 0-16 in PAC 10 play. Herb wins by default.

UCLA has 12 or 13 guys that will challenge Harden for POY though, lol

OH SNAP that BYU game is in the football arena, I remember hearing about that last year

They are having an NCAA regional there, so they have to host two games or something during the year so the NCAA knows that the stadium staff can handle the games.

same as last year though....

it all depends on how the OOC teams play during their own conference schedules

last year, who'd have thunk an OOC schedule including Illinois, Princeton, LSU, Coppin State, and Xavier wouldn't have been enough

IUPUI (26-7)/BYU (27-8)/SDSU (20-13)/Charlotte (20-14)/Baylor (21-11) are all quality opponents

and Providence is returning most of the starters from the team who swept UConn, beat #18 Arkansas, beat Boston College, beat Temple, beat Florida State, beat Cincinnati.....and now has 2007 National Coach of the Year, Keno Davis from Drake, as their head coach

First commit for the 2010 class

3* SG, Corey Hawkins

son of Hersey Hawkins

dropped 50pts in a game (against eventual AZ state champ) this past season as a sophomore...averaged 22.5ppg

Anyone with half a brain knew all of those teams would suck except Xavier and MAYBE Illinois

The only team in that group that will actually be good is Baylor, Herb is in for another year with a SOS in the 75-100 range which will again hurt his chances of getting to the tourney.

haha i emailed Herb last night after I read a page of Julius Hodge's "famous" quotes while he was at State just to let Herb know he made a lot of pack fans happy and that a lot of us still keep up with him and wished him luck. He e-mailed me back this morning at 5:30am their time.

i kinda miss the ol stiff

Anthony Stover, 6'10" center, began his official visit tour this week. his first stop was ASU.

he's a 4* now (scout's #11 center), but could be a 5* when they reevaluate.

it's between ASU, UofA, Washington and UCLA....definitely an uphill battle

lol. that's the point, there was no improvement. he had nothing coming back and took the money to scoot out. i don't hold it against the guy b/c a lot of us wanted him gone, myself included, but that's what he did. why people love him so much is beyond me.

Herb just got his first commit for 2011

stud point guard, Josiah Turner from California

Quote :
"he is clearly the No. 1 pure point guard prospect for the Class of 2011 on the West Coast"

so he'll be a combo guard
