you won't be able to use it without intarweb service anyway...if you're talking about cable intarweb, you should get one from your cable company...hook that up to a wireless router and you should be fine

already have a wireless router in the house and I dont want to buy the $100 wireless adapter for Xbox, not to mention the router has some delays on it

id rather have the straight line

I think it should work wouldnt it? if i have it straight from the same line the cable in the main room is runnin off of? we used to ahve the modem there but moved it to a different room without TWC having to do anything

you can't have two cable modems on the same roadrunner account unless you pay them a shit ton extra

your best bet is to get a wireless router and a usb wifi card

So you buy the 'thingy mabob' and attempt to set it up, then TWC gives you the 'hey this is your MAC Address, call this number' webpage. This is assuming you tried to connect your computer to the new modem to set it up.

Then, you call TWC and the first tier tech has no clue what you're doing, so you either get hung up on or moved up (if you're willing to wait on the phone for 30 min to get to the first tier, go ahead). They move you up, the second tier asks what's wrong, you explain, they say 'one modem per account'.

Since you obviously don't want to pay for TWO internet accounts you are now left with an extra 'surfboard like modem thingy mabob', and at minimum 30 min of your life wasted on something as simple as plugging in your xbox via ethernet to the router which would give you the best possible speed with the least amount of money, work, and embarrassment.

2 options:
1) hard line ethernet from xbox to wireless router, if you don't have an open port, buy a switch.
or
2) take evan's advice

I don't mean to come off as a dick, but it's hard to take you 'seriously, k'.

usb wireless won't work. you need the proprietary microsoft dongle. JHova was selling one a while back.

that linksys gaming router/access point/wireless deal will work. another wireless router in ad-hoc mode will probably work.

power outlet networking kit will probably work
