it's because she didn't have the GOP 'prompter from the convention that had it spelled out as "nu-clee-ar"

Obama only picked Biden as his running mate to pander to white males like myself

George W. Bush / Bill Clinton in 2012

after Obama or McCain improves the 22nd Amendment

unfortunately I also see NC going red. the polls were close before McCain picked Palin

as active-duty military, I hear you can register to vote absentee in any state? I'll have to look up more about this. I'm considering getting a PO Box in Virginia and voting in that state, where my vote will actually matter

W/B '12 would be the most charismatic team in a while. its like a white house filled with people you could see in a bar.

whether it be saloon or hiphop club. you could possibly see one of them...

[Edited on September 12, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Reason : thats for dubya and bill.... not woman/black... because this race black would be first.. woman as vp]

Looked like a pretty solid interview by Gibson. I'd like to see the press actually apply that standard universally to all candidates.

Obama and his ultra-left policies spurred me to join the NRA and get a conceal and carry license. As far as I'm concerned, they can carve the 2nd ammendment on on tombstone.

"“If you’ve got a gun in your house, I’m not taking it,’’ Obama said. But the Illinois senator could still see skeptics in the crowd, particularly on the faces of several men at the back of the room.

So he tried again. “Even if I want to take them away, I don’t have the votes in Congress,’’ he said. “This can’t be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I’m not going to take away your guns.’’"

and no one is going to take your guns especially because the supreme ct recently ruled on the REAL meaning of the 2nd amendment.

Can you provide a source for that Nancy Pelosi quote?

^^, the ruling wasn't as broad as gun ownership in general. It didn't really address ownership of individuals vs ownership of militias.

^^^ exactly

although the ruling was pretty vague and left most people confused how it would apply to different levels of govt. But even if Pelosi wanted to ban all guns she couldn't for the exact reason JCASHFAN pointed out - she doesn't have the votes.

It was Feinstein, not Pelosi, hence the correction.

^^ She didn't have the votes. If she did she would. That isn't a very convincing argument.

Lets continue the quotes shall we:

Quote :
"I think it is a scandal that this president did not authorize a renewal of the assault weapons ban."
Except that the weapons classified as assault weapons under this act are used in the commission of < 1% of all crimes. The AWB served no purpose except to open the door for further regulation.

And then there is his obfuscation on his, or at least his campaign's stance on banning handguns:

Quote :
"Actually, Obama's writing was on the 1996 document, which was filed when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate. A Chicago nonprofit, Independent Voters of Illinois, had this question, and Obama took hard line:

35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.

Obama's campaign said, "Sen. Obama didn't fill out these state Senate questionnaires--a staffer did--and there are several answers that didn't reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didn't reflect his views." "

Ok, I'm going to quit now and not turn this into a TSB thread.

lol 1996? what about in 2006 when Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere, which she's now against? hey if you can justify that, you can justify changing your mind after 12 darn years

I'd settle for a straight answer out of the man after 10 years.

And there is no indication that he's changed his opinion whatsoever, I just grabbed the first quotes I could find.

I like Palin just because she isn't afraid of guns. I'm from the country; You were the minority (and a moron) if you didn't have a few in the house. I don't think it's an issue of them trying to take urrr gunnnz. There is no way they could ever get them all. Given the choice, I'd much rather have a guillotine for my personal safety, but logistically I can't carry enough baskets to keep heads in.

Anecdote about women and guns: my husband's 81yo, 100 pound grandmother can shoot faster than a crip at wu-tang concert.
