Nate Irving is a man amongst boys. Schoolchildren, if you will.

After two games against Division I competition he is on pace to accomplish a feat unmatched in modern football history. It's no secret that he leads NC State's defense and is unrivaled in his quest to win the team's defensive MVP honors.

However, after converting roughly 33.3% of his Interceptions into Touchdowns he is on pace to set goals he never even dreamed of. He has the inside leg in taking the team's offensive MVP award as well.

When asked about the feasibility of the accomplishment Irving spoke confidently, "When I'm on the field I look to score because I know no matter how well our defense plays we can't win games without putting points on the board. That's just basic math, nothing hard like MA 107."

Coach Tom O'Brien spoke very highly of Irving's early season surge as well. "We don't really like to define Irving's position. To do that would really limit how we utilize him. Sometimes we don't even call plays when we're on defense. We just tell the other ten guys not to jump offsides and tell Nate 'Hey, go get a sack. If he fumbles then pick it up and run it in for six'. Or 'Hey Nate, intercept this next pass. If it's a running play just tackle the guy with the ball instead and we'll pick it off next play."

The real question is whether Irving will stay focused on just football. Just this pass week Gallup.com reported that Irving was making headway in the student body president polls. His emerging support is coming from the coveted 18-22 yr old single white female demographic. Other parts of the country are starting to take notice. Irving has had to table offers to help move large oak trees off damaged homes in Houston, TX due to NCAA rules involving his collegiate eligibility.

Who knows where his career is headed but Irving summed up his future best when he said "I'm just enjoying the ride. No homo." "

I didn't know there's MA107 at state. I thought MA121 is the most basic math you can take.
