i refused the service in packtracks or whatever because i didn't have text messaging on my phone at the time. i just got a phone with texting and can't figure out how to put my number on the list. can't find a link in packtracks or anything.

this comparison is dumb. it depends on how many numbers are in the system and how fast their system can send the messages.

It may be dumb, but I'm still curious how long it takes for a message to be received once it's sent. The earliest received message so far in this thread was at 10:34, I didn't receive it until 17 minutes later. There's a pretty big spread there, especially if there were some big emergency on campus.

I do think it's interesting to see how long these messages take to get out... but I had something against it.
