Wow, UNCC doesn't even compete in women's swimming already? I figured that was a pretty basic college sport to compete in.9/19/2008 10:10:07 AM |

^ seriously
I agree with Dubois's decision. Seems like its always brought up around this time of year. I'm also from the Charlotte area so I remember a time before the Panthers where we would go to Boone, Raleigh, Clemson, and Winston for football. However, the main story should be if this does go through does it dilute the product in NC even more? 9/19/2008 10:34:26 AM |

I don't think so. UNC and State will always be the big dogs and get the best talent in the state (well provided they aren't swooped up by CU, UF, UGA, UT, VT, etc). This just gives less talented players that would normally have to go to an out of state D-IAA team to compete a chance to stay in-state. I doubt we would even recruit the players that they will be recruiting. 9/19/2008 10:44:44 AM |

I imagine they'll try to tap the Charlotte Metro for a good many of their players, especially early on. For one that region generally has the best football in the state, and also it will keep their travel costs in their recruiting budget low. There are plenty of decent players there that get overlooked by State, UNC, and ECU. A lot of them end up at App, Western, and the D-IAA colleges in the area. 9/19/2008 11:03:12 AM |

Quote : | "UNC-Charlotte Independence" | Wouldn't surprise me at all. However if they can get a bunch of the players from the Charlotte area that would be going to I-AA schools instead they might be able to field a decent team (against their competition)9/19/2008 3:48:23 PM |

Yes I mean being there physically. I did some hoops in the basketball stadium before, not on the official court but at the second floor workout place. Really special. 6/24/2020 10:18:17 AM |
