I remember back in 2001 I was dating a girl that went to Broughton and parking sucked then. Her parents had the means to get a parking pass from one of the York properties lots adjacent to the school. Since then they have added mobile classrooms to one of the back lots and taken away a bunch of the student parking.

I can definitely understand the folks who do not want to pave the lawn. The school will be 100 years old in the next decade. It is kind of like a Raleigh icon. On the other hand every other WCPSS school has a parking lot in front so its kind of an unfair argument to make. The county cannot justify the expenditure of building a deck or something just for this high school.

I am sure you drove to school when you were a kid; don't act so detached from when you were younger. Riding the bus is the college equivalent to staying in the dorm. Only freshman, losers, or the poor kids rode the cheese wagon.

The issue goes beyond whiny kids crying over not being able to drive. Driving to school when i was in high school made it easier to carry my lacrosse gear, gave me an additional hour i could work after school, and decreased the burden of having my parents to trolly me around whenever i had to stay after school or attend an appointment.
