The best part about Nate Irving is it isn't like he's a one dimensional pass-rusher or just an all coverage guy. He covers well, he pass rushes well, he defends the run well. I honestly don't know anything that he does badly.

I was at the game and saw him go off into the lockerroom. Any word on why?

Bob Sanders is an excellent comparison for this guy. I seriously doubt he plays LB in the NFL if/when he's drafted.

During the game they speculated a high ankle sprain. I'm gonna be optimistic and guess that he won't be out for more than a week.

they taped up his ankle and sent him back out there in the 2nd half, but he didn't play long before coming back out for good.

what a good looking linebacker.all that speed to go with his thick limbs and nice wide hips topped off with stout cut shoulders. He's as good as in the nfl right now.

It probably won't be known until atleast tomorrow.

Its ironic people comparing him to Bob Sanders, if Nate has a high ankle sprain then both players will be sidelined with the same injury.

Probably won't be known until Tuesday when they release injuries for the upcoming game.

I LOVE THIS GUY...he's a playmaker and I dig it.

I was really upset when I noticed he didn't come back in on a series. Watched him play one down of the second half before leaving on crutches.
I pray it's just a strain or slight sprain---he changes our defense so much.

With that I'd like to give a shout out to Neal and Grey as well 14/30

after the post game press conference Irving came out of the murphy center and seemed to be walking ok, but looked to be using the crutches simply as a precaution

Why wouldn't he play linebacker? He's a linebacker's size and obviously very good at the position already.

you're right, that guy must have some serious bulk under those pads, I didn't realize he was in the 225-230 weight range, I figured more like 205-210. Guy could be a very good OLB, still don't think he has the size to be a pro MLB without sacrificing speed for more bulk.

The best thing about Nate's suplex in the ECU game was the fact that he absolutely dominated that guy, but immediately helps the guy up and doesn't gloat or anything, he just walks back to the huddle. He seems to be modest, which is a rare trait in the game of football.

No update yet.

An ankle sprain of some kind, hopefully a low ankle sprain.

UPDATE:

As soon as I posted I went found where someone said they saw Nate on campus, no boot, no limp, and said he would be ready for Saturday!!
