I just wish that when you voted for a 3rd party candidate that it didn't split the vote in such a way that sometimes the person that you least wanted in office ends up there.

The libertarian party is ridiculous. The extent to which they want to limit government blows my mine. Being an individualistic nation is one thing. That form of radical individualism does a lot of harm. If it isn't for any other reason, vote for one of the two main parties because they are closer to the center.
