Hey, my band is working on getting some material together to play around the area hopefully in the near future. Are there any local shoegaze bands that have similar tastes/sound that you guys like? We are looking around in Chapel Hill and Durham for places to play. What are some places that would be receptive to this kind of music, droney, loud, wall of sound music?

here is our myspace with some songs: http://www.myspace.com/mutespacemusic

the thing is that even when shoegaze was a reasonably popular genre (mid/late '90s), this area was still all about guitar pop

good luck

^^ when you have to pay so much attention to your sustainer units, alternating chord voicings, and backwards reverb pedals to keep up the wall of sound that you're always looking down and never at the audience (shoegazing)
