ok, thinking about getting another vehicle. wanted to refer here for good advice as it has been granted in the past. read mixed reviews online about the car. fuel economy is decent, roomy car, 3800 series engine is a +.... anyone had much experience with this particular model? chevy in general? thank you for any advice.

They are very good cars for what they are, which is a midsize family sedan. I have considered getting a police model for the wife to drive.

Biggest POS I've ever driven is a 2008 Impala rental car. Handling was sloppy as hell, seats were uncomfortable as hell, and everything inside was cheap as shit looking.

I wouldn't wish an Impala on my worst enemy.

on a side note, what's the deal with black people and their obsession with the Impala SS?

Did I mention this car's ugly as sin?

I would take this car only if it was entirely free, AND if I didn't have to pay insurance for it.

haha. what did you do? fall out of love with her? from an escalade to an impala. damn.

i personally think the cars are pieces of shit in general. the engine is solid but everything else will rattle you to death. the catalytic converters are shit on them too so expect to be replacing that pretty soon if it hasn't been done already. one cool feature about the police model, not that it has any benefit for anything, I just think it's cool, is the blackout feature. you push a button and it turns all lights off. the brake lights won't even come on with the button pushed.

I had a 2004 3.4 that I bought new. I love the car because it was an Impala and I had always wanted one. Once that went away I realized how crappy it actually was. It's 100% plastic and rattles everywhere, acceleration is garbage, shifting is some of the worst I've ever encountered and the resale value was nonexistant.

no, I was going to tell her she can keep the escalade, and have the impala. she can drive one back and forth to work, and the other to run errands, go to target, grocery shopping, etc. i dont care which one she uses for which but cant use one car for both.

The one positive about the Impala is it got the best gas mileage of any big car I have ever had.
