I will be a dad 6 months from now! We might have the sex determined in a month or so, but we haven't decided on that.

I don't want any names which are common/popular in the US, UK, South Asia, or Arab countries (unless it sounds great to me and/or has a great meaning).

So far, my wife and I have come up with the following:

Boys

Alonzo
Avogadro
Bernoulli
Bruno
Cavallo
Einstein
Enrico
Ettore
Euler
Felix
Fermat
Ferrero
Fourier
Fulvio
Galileo
Galvani
Google
Johannes
Julius
Kepler
Leonardo
Leonhard
Lorentz
Lorenzo <--- my wife's first choice (she has a fascination with Italy), and I love it too
Lucas
Luigi
Marconi
marko
Maximus
Maxwell
Newton
Nicolaus
Nikola
Pascal
Pythagorus
Richter
Sartorius
Schrödinger
Stefan
Sylvan
Tesla
trapezius
Venturi
Volta
Wolfgang

Luciana (Loo-chee-ana)
Maria
Mercedes
Nicoletta

Sophia/Sofia
Sylvia
Ursula
Vera

NO pornstar names, or pornstar sounding names
NO names of people who were tyrants/killer/dictators or other people reviled in history

Post suggestions and if I/we like them, I will add them to the list. Thanks!

And go!

I hope so too, but why do you say that?

From the suggestions so far, I like:

Ivan
Maximillian (really like!)

Myra

^^ That's George Costanza. But now that I say that, I like Costanza and Costanzo as well!

Julius Avogadro

Lorenzo Euler

I'm not gonna vote on girls' names because I would be here all night, making combinations.

Z hasn't proposed, but we are already in agreement on our first son's name. William Thomas.

I wanna name our first two girls Emily Michelle and Britta Christine/Britta Anne. I also love the name Ingrid Elizabeth.

Dammit, I can't not vote for girls' names.

Alexandra
Eva
Sophia/Sofia

HOLY SHIT

I totally forgot about having a middle name as wel!!!

Damn that makes thousands of combinations using just the names on the list so far

Quote :
"Julius Avogadro

Lorenzo Euler"

Those are very good. I like the letter Z. I would like to have it in the names. There are a few in both lists so far.

Leo is good. But if we went for that, we would probably go for Leonhard or Leonardo, and shorten it to Leo in the house. Same with Lorenzo/Enzo. I love Enzo.

Yeah, that's awesome. Many combinations of the Italian, German, and Russian names from my list will make great 2-name combos.

^^^ I like Gino. Adding to my Excel sheet! What's wrong with Tesla?

^^ I thought of that (from Gladiator), but then thought to myself that it sounds too close to "commode" OK, I looked it up, and commode originates from commodus!

^ Thanks.

GOING TO THE LIST:

Gino
Leo
Leon
Leonid

Gina I like it, but too many pornstars named Gina, and horrible kids would call her vaGina.

^^ I like most of those names actually, just that I want an uncommon one. And not all of them are common. The following is going to my list:

Acacia

Other new ones:

Arcadio/Arkadio

Arcadia/Arkadia (from your ^ suggestion; Arkady is the Russian version of the original Greek name)
Soleil
Shakira
Armada
Porsche
Aurora (I love this, but I have a feeling there must be a pornstar named that )

^^^^ haha... i don't know that washing machine brand name. i do know the nissan armada, though.

anyway, if i choose that name, it isn't because of any products named armada

I am loving http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager more and more. As long as a name is in the top 1,000 names for any of the years from 1880 till now, you can CONSTRUCT it. Play with it and you will see what I mean.

Barack sounds too much like a couple of common Arabic names (Baraka, Barak). tsalva, your suggestions sound too much like Indian/Arabic names, except for Zubin, which I don't know where it comes from. I actually like Bristol, but since it is a city in the UK, my wife won't agree.
