it tastes best with milk, next with water (if its chocolate or vanilla or something similar). anything else ive ever had it in was basically undrinkable.
and wtf at putting it in a soda from a health standpoint.

see i love it in shakes but im far too lazy to make um.
as far as health, well...what ya gonna do. i am trying to gain weight and i drink soda anyways so i dont see a diff between:
1. drinking a glass of water then mixing powder w/soda 2. drinking a glass of soda then mixing powder w/water 9/27/2008 1:43:05 PM |

^^ haha, yeah i know its bullshit but oh well.
^ i do lift, but not like a beast or anything. just increasing caloric intake while working out a bit so it all doesnt go to complete shit.

^^ yea thats what I was wondering, because otherwise protein powder will do jack. what is your height/weight?
not attacking you, I just never got the 'wanting to gain weight' thing that guys are always talking about. Im 5'8ish 135 lbs and I eat like a horse (but pretty healthily) and run and lift 6 out of 7 days in the week and I never really gain a lot of weight even though Ive gotten a lot stronger and thats fine with me. If youre just trying to LOOK like you weigh more, sometimes just putting on lean muscle mass can give you that look without stuffing yourself with calories for the sake of gaining weight.
Maybe ive turned into somewhat of a health nut, but I just dont see any positives to weighing more, especially not at the sake of eating less healthily.

i drink um only on days i work out, its one of those 1000 calorie powders that just combines a ton of carbs with like 50g of protien. im sure i piss half of it out, but it is something.
gained probably about 7 lbs in the last month, slow and steady.
i was around 128 and started working out and eating healthy. gained a lil muscle but dropped down towards 125 and lower. i looked like i had muscle but ppl kept telling me it looked unhealthy (including a lady friend that i hope to be my future wife). i said fuck it and started working out a lil bit while increasing my intake. i eat healthy some days, like shit others. its whatever.

well hell you're skinnier than I am. I guess I can see you wanting to weigh more. Usually Its guys who are like 6ft 170 and theyre like "I want to be like 190" and I just dont understand why.
and 50g is not too much if you are on a pretty decent workout.

its not that intense, so i doubt i need 150+ like some ppl say. just to focus some of those calories away from the gut.

150 would be way overkill for you. For anyone you're weight really.
my post from a protein thread:
Quote : | "I was pretty up on this stuff when I wrestled, wanting to maximize strength while minimizing weight. A lot of body builders tell you to eat 1gram of protein a day for each lb of body weight you have. If you are lifting 5-7 days a week heavily that is pretty accurate as an upper limit, you would never need more than this and this is really for heavy lifters. Any more would go down the toilet) If you're working out 3 days a week with an average routine, it is closer to like 0.75 grams of protein per lb of body weight. Modulate in between depending on where you feel you are at with your workout. (the average we are told to consume for an adult male is close to .5 grams of protein /lb of body weight for the "normal" person who isnt lifting weights as a reference)." |
If you were lifting HARD you would probably only utilize close to ~125g no matter how much you took in. And that would be on a fairly intense workout plan. Id say you're closer to utilizing 75 to 100ish range depending on how hard you worked out.9/27/2008 1:59:41 PM |
