I spend every summer working at a camp, and have been doing so for the last 11 years. Wet Hot American Summer is the best camp movie I've ever seen* (and not far off from the actual experience). All of us here at camp are getting pumped for the new series.

*Heavyweights is a close second, though.

Michael Showalter looks weird. I'm glad he's back but he's going to have the hardest time playing a teenager again (he was one of the oldest when the movie came out and that was so long ago already).

Also, H Jon Benjamin as a real person! I wonder if some magical thing will happen that turns him into a can of vegetables or if it's 2 separate characters.

Watched the whole thing in one sitting. I'm feeling very mixed about it. The original didn't follow much of a plot other than Coop and Katie, and relied on simple short gags to move things along.

I would have preferred a 2 hour movie that stuck to the original's style than 4 hours worth of a serial that let bad jokes run for too long.

I think this would have been terrible as a stand-alone piece and I'm disappointed in that. But as a huge fan of the movie I loved getting to see these characters again and loved the little jokes hidden in there as throwbacks (or I guess foreshadowing?)

***Spoilers***

Best scene in the whole thing was the Gene vs Falcon fight. That had me rolling. Pretty much any scene that has Christopher Meloni or Jon Hamm in it was great, so of course the two of them together were perfect.
