Wal-mart does it cheap.Oil change is $15-20, tire rotation is like $8, not sure about inspection.
9/30/2008 1:37:03 PM
thx for making this jen, i was going to ask about a similar thing. What does it mean if my oil pressure gauge fluctuates a lot? I just took it to get a tune up because it was driving kinda rough. I figured it had something to do with the oil filter since i have a brand new engine.I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.

LUBE JOB
9/30/2008 1:41:12 PM
why would you pay someone to change your oil and rotate your tiresi have jack stands and an air wrench
9/30/2008 1:41:45 PM
What, no, are you kidding? That would go terribly wrong. Wal-mart eh? God i fucking hate that place
9/30/2008 1:48:10 PM
horribly wrong?i did it last week.
9/30/2008 1:48:56 PM
I could do my oil change but im not doing my tires. Plus i already need to take it in to have that tire patched and inspection done so i just figured getting it all done anyway unless your offering
9/30/2008 1:53:17 PM
i didn't mean i wanted you to do itjesus
9/30/2008 1:54:37 PM
I like getting the oil changed at Wally World. Pay $5 extra to get the good oil though (worth it to me.) Tire rotation is a big no-no @ Wally though, they have their air wrenches set to like 3x the recommended torque. If you ever have a flat you have to throw your entire body weight into it hoping you can just get the lug nuts off. For the record, if you buy your tires @ Costco they do all this stuff for free (the tire part - no oil changes.)
9/30/2008 1:57:01 PM
this is why i only use an air wrench really slowly on run-up, then an old-fashioned bar torque wrench to torque the nuts

once in a while a coupon booklet for precision tune/meineke comes around in the junk mailthey offer an oil change w/ free tire rotation and inspection for around $20then they'll try to scare you into getting your tires balanced for $40, just say no
9/30/2008 2:15:00 PM
thanks for ^ and the wal-mart idea. If vb doesn't do it then i shall be hitting them up. Oh and thanks for the heads up on not letting them touch my tired
9/30/2008 2:22:55 PM
vinylbandit....will you change my oil and rotate my tires.Since Jen wasn't getting what you were throwing...I'll take advantage
9/30/2008 2:36:05 PM
NOBODY touches my car but ME. Unless I have to have tires put on or exhaust work done. And when it's tires, I watch with an eagle eye.Exhaust...well, I get Bob or Henry to do it if it's something I can't do myself (I used to do exhaust work).NC inspection for cars '96 and newer is about 30 bux. 10 bux for the older ones.Oil change? NEVER go to any quick lube place. Walmart is about as good as any, and the house brand oil is just fine if you change it every 3k miles. Just don't let them put a Fram filter on your car. They are the worst made...well, at least out of most filters used in the US.And finally, why the BLUE FUCK didn't you post this in the garage?
9/30/2008 3:30:05 PM
