According to this story: http://www.newsobserver.com/news/story/1238529.html in today's N&O, Carrboro town alderman approved today the 300 Main project, which will replace the shopping center that Cat's Cradle currently occupies part of. Any idea what this will mean for the Cradle? It's such a well-known venue that I can't imagine the town wants to lose it, but at the same time I don't know if I see a music venue being put in the upscale mixed-use development that is supposed to go there...hmmm.

I can't imagine Carrboro not havaing a plan to ensure that it stays in that area.

It will have a spot in the new place if all goes as planned. The Cradle wants a bigger space because they feel that they lose out on some acts that go to larger venues like the Orange Peel.

the cradle used to be way down franklin street, so it's not like the current location in a strip mall is historic

anyway, this project that they're building on the current site has been in the works for at least five years, and as soon as the idea was announced the cradle management said that they already had a plan in place for a new location, though it'd be further into carrboro and not back towards CH

no worries, kids

that notion is a little ridiculous. I can only wish the same bands that go to the cradle came down here to miami.

Anyone else remember the mid-90's when you used to enter the Cat's Cradle from the back where the bar is?
