The highlight of 1997 for me was my trip to Europe with a student group. We went to England, France, Italy, & Greece in 2 weeks. Back in those days my parents could go right to the boarding gate with me, and we could leave the car at the curb right outside the terminal.

I was 15 and I got my first kiss. It was TERRIBLE!!
My brother graduated and went to college.
My parents were split up for the third time so I was listening to Mariah Carey's " Outside looking in" on loop.
I found out I had type I diabetes the dec before so I was terrible at taking care of my health at that moment.
I finally learned how to use tampons....thank God!!!

in 1997 i wassss 13. 7th and 8th grade.

i was just getting over that awkward hump. like the transition for elementary to middle school. like stirrup pants were ok in 5th grade, not in 6th. but you'd still wear them anyway but pair with a limited too or abercrombie shirt to try to fit in. then in 7th grade i remember wearing a lot of skorts. 8th grade...is this when flare jeans came back in style? maybe that happened in 7th grade. oh i got my braces off in 8th grade, pretty sweet.

oh yea and as far as music: hanson, maria carey, boys II men, blackstreet?, silverchair. in 8th grade i was bordering on finally listening to good music, though (the pixies, etc). i don't think i really pulled through until like 9th grade...even then i still had some questionable music tastes (a little too emo).
