I was on my way to Anthropology of South East Asia [Dr Schiller] and I had stopped at Global Village for a soy chai latte. Strange day.

also between classes, but my soph year of highschool

walked into advanced earth science ha and the teacher had the tv on the news... and we started to discuss it and watched the second plane hit the tower... we were all talking about what a horrible accident it was and then the 2nd one hit..then everyone was talking about some incident with bushes dad.. and terrorist and bombing and thats all we takled about/watched the whole day... was in math when the pentagon was hit... we didnt watch much of it.. and then as i walked in to 4th period world civ i watch the first tower crumble and then a few minutes later the second.... then our teacher was talking about how it was terrorist related and since he was in the army wed probably have a sub in the next month.. and we all got excited

a couple weeks later i flew to disney world and was questioned about my belonging or searched everywhere we went... (airport/disney/waterparks )

I was in art class at Apex high when the first one was hit. Another teacher burst in to say "turn on the news, something awful happened in NY". So the art teacher turns on the tv to fox news and we just saw smoke. Then I had AP chemistry right after that and on the way, another plane hits the pentagon.

Then everything after that kind of became surreal and a blur. I don't recall if we were evacuated from school or not.

Was in chemistry lab at NCSU, freshman year. Was leaving there when somebody mentioned a plane hit the world trade center.

A lot of people didn't believe it or didn't realize how serious it was. I figured it was like that incident at the white house during Clinton's term where that dude flew a small plane into a tree on the white house lawn (or whatever happened, but it was pretty minor).

Didn't even turn on the TV when I got back, but was playing Counterstrike (ironically). Friend of mine across the hall (Sullivan 803b) was like "HOLY SHIT" so I ran in to see. Whoops.

At the end of World History, 10th Grade, with some prick teacher I don't even remember.

Right after that was homeroom. Homeroom teacher was also my accounting teacher, who did a couple tours in 'Nam. Boy was he pissed.

In Geometry, (9th grade?) when I first saw on tv and heard about it, didn't really know the magnitude of it at that point, just thought it was a freak accident (only tower one at that point). Our teacher turned off the tv, told us something like 'our nation is under attack' and while we were all like 'wtf' she says ok put your stuff away we're taking this quiz. Wouldn't let us watch and just taught the lesson like regular, but next period social studies the guy was cool and recognized that this was important and even relevant to SS so we just watched tv all class long. Lunch and the rest of the day was just watching tv and having discussions/lectures about what was happening.

When it happened I was in my dorm room in Owen Hall, sleeping through my swimming class.

My roommate told me later when she got back from class.

I was asleep on the 10th floor of Metcalf.

I thought it was a joke when I checked the wolf web, headed off to class, and didn't think why everyone was looking so shocked.

I realized it was true when my teacher canceled class so we could all try and process what had happened.

I had just moved in with my then-girlfriend, (then-soon-to-be fiance and wife) a coupla months before.

The week before it happened, I lost my job working for a douchebag civil engineer.

That morning, I was sitting at home, wondering just how the fuck I was gonna make it, and wondering just what kind of mistake I had made.

Now, divorced, I know that all of it was a huge fucking mistake. At the time, it was such a mindfuck I didn't even give half a fuck about the goddam twin towers.

Even bible camp can be like that, in fact, there you can get all the ladies just by having clothes that fit right and knowing what a shower is for.

7th grade. Social studies class... teacher form across the hall rushes in and tells us to stop everything and turn the TV on. Soon after, an announcement comes on the intercom for everyone to turn on the classroom televisions. Then the second plane hit.

2nd year grad student at NCSU. I was sleeping in Watauga (dorm) when the planes hit the towers.

I saw it on the interwebs in the afternoon when I went to my office in the building next to Daniels (forgot the name).

My friend from high school IM'd me after my Bio class and breakfast during my freshman year of college. By that time the south tower had fallen and the North was still burning.

I don't think I've really talked to that friend since. Really weird actually. I guess it was a general FYI IM.
