I need something that rips a VOB file into something i can put on the web.

Xilisoft has been an easy program in the past for music that i used. but are there any less expensive programs that are as good?

they want $35 for registration.

i let it convert.. and i just sat there cuz my CD drive just made noise.. then after like 30 mins it started to give me an update.

dang video is like 160MB

Is Super a good choice if I want to convert an xvid to the apple tv/mp4 format?

it works great* for ipod conversion - just set the top two menus to mp4/mpeg-4, drag n drop, and hit convert. flawless everytime, unlike nero's app.
