For $776!

http://www.slickdeals.net/permadeal/14394/Panasonic-Viera-TH-42PZ80U-42-1080p-Plasma-HDTV---Firedog-Professional-In-Home-TV-Calibration-776

What do ya'll think? I believe I am going to buy this bastard, but just wanted your opinion on this unit. Anybody else considering it or had one of these Panasonic HD-TVs?

This is a much better deal. I bought the 47" for my parents and girlfriend and it's worth every penny.

If I was in the market for a TV, I'd get it. However I'm perfectly happy with my old-heavy-as-hell SONY 1080i 36" CRT tv.

Alright well I drove to the store and picked this bitch up. Just got it setup. It looks like shit on SD with an RCA connection compared to my Sony Trinitron Tube TV. But its fucking huge and will look awesome once I get TurboHD ordered and they strap on the new DISH and get me an HDMI compatible box.

to me, plasma is still tops, no matter how much heat it puts out.

pioneer kuro.

hotnesssssssssssss

the X series aquos are the HOTNESSS in LCD's. hell they are rumored to be internet ready, which is interesting.

the 65" is $13k in japan, while the 52" is $9k.

Haha thanks, I just got signed up for TurboHD Bronze. They said they can't offer me the HD only package because of something that can't be discussed that will be theoretically released to all customers in February. Whatever, I will have 30+ HD channels between now and then plus DVR for $10/month more. I can wait. Thats getting put in Tuesday.

I have since been up wiring my shit. Found enough cables to do component from my DVD player and finally turned on progressive scan. Wow, just that alone was fucking amazing. I could almost stay up all night and just watch movies. I popped in Transformers and was amazed.

I can't believe how fucking happy I am to have this thing. Now all I need to complete it is a Blu-Ray player, nice Bose surround system (my wife wants the little wall mountable speaker system) and a wall mount to hang this bad boy up. I fucking LOVE this thing!
