I assume most of you watched the UNC-Notre Dame game on Saturday and saw the injury, turns out it's a torn ACL and he's out for the season. Here's a link to N&O blog entry http://blogs.newsobserver.com/accnow/seasons-over-for-uncs-tate

Sucks for the kid, but maybe we have more of a chance of beating them now

I was just about to post this.

Sucks for Tate because he's a senior, and it is too late for the medical redshirt.

But I can't really feel bad for the Heels, when they lose 10 more I'll consider feeling bad for them.

as much as i don't like unc, i hate it for the dude. don't get me wrong, i get a kick out of somebody getting laid the frick out on the field, but i never like seeing season-ending (or worse) injuries.

This is good for NC State and UNC haters alike, but I do feel bad for Tate because he is like Torry Holt used to be for us. Just a plain bad ass play maker even without much of a supporting cast. He would have likely been the ACC POY if UNC continued to win and made the Peach bowl (or better).

^ probably not. VT might lose one game, but two?? I doubt it. Also UNC has to still go undefeated in ACC play the rest of the way, I doubt that too.

virginia tech will lose to miami. game is just too late in the year. florida state and maryland are jekyl and hyde enough to beat them you never know. vt is not even good. they just have a pretty solid defense.

Nah, never time to celebrate someone having a serious injury. Especially because you know if we beat them it's gonna be all about how they didn't have all of their players.

lol yeah, really. . .it's one thing to hate on em because we went to state.

but to imply they have a less-than-stellar athletics department is just retarded. they routinely had a great football program in the 90s, their basketball program speaks for itself for decades, and they're always decent in baseball. hell, their women's sports are top-notch, too.

so yeah, i don't get the implication.

I don't think he's saying they have bad athletic programs. I think he's saying he doesn't get why you would go to UNC when you have to gaze out into Kenan Stadium at the 60,000 golf-clapping fans with their sweater vests on everytime you score a touchdown.

^ grew up in chapel hill, so i've been to kenan plenty of times over the years. yes, they occasionally have a great atmosphere there (see: FSU game in '95, and last week against ND), but typically it's a total crap fan base at games. they're as fairweather as it gets when it comes to football...

You are a fucking idiot.

Hell at one time the US Womens National Soccer team was almost entirely the UNC womens varsity team of which Dorance coached both. In some ways it still is mostly UNC Alumni.

UNC is nationally ranked in mens and womens soccer, track and field, mens and womens basketball, football, baseball, lacrosse, field hockey, tennis, fencing, and IIRC wrestling, and swimming and diving.

UNC has also been declared one of the best academic Unviersities in the counry for college athletes. Lets not even go to the point of how many Olympians they have produced either.

Put down the pipe you fucking retard. Its posts like this why people think most NC State students are absent minded farm boys that spent too much time shoveling shit and inhaling the fumes one too many times.

good luck being I attended both schools and grew up personally knowing jim valvano and being a state fan before most of you underclassmen had your siblings swimming down your moms throats.

The problem is that the lot of you (trolls) are simply either 1. too ignorant, or 2. just too fucking stupid to bother to educate yourself about the academic system of schools to which your university belongs to.

Hell NC States school/college of engineering wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for the consolidation act of circa 1940's which moved an overcrowded department (or school) of math (or physics - cant remember without looking it up) at UNC to Raleigh which subsequently became the college of engnineering at NCSU. Ironically isnt this one of the flagship colleges at NC State?

Oh I bet that burns even more huh. And if you want Id be glad to pull the book off my shelf and type out the exact actions.

edit: and I'm not sure saying, I went to NCSU and was friends with Jimmy V but now I'm a UNC fan is really a great case for yourself. Basically sounds like you couldn't handle the extreme depression that comes from being an NCSU fan so you jumped the bandwagon.

I didnt jump the bandwagon at all. I simply just got tired of raleigh. In fact I was in this program http://www.bme.unc.edu/ but I simply couldnt hack it. The program was extremely difficult and I couldnt handle it. I still root for state as I do for UNC. I just simply prefer UNC because thats where I choose to pursue my education. I am looking at trying to apply for the Masters in Networking at State, or a Masters of Science in Information Science at UNC. I think both schools are strong, credible and academically distinguished. Its just the imature koolaid drinking posters on here that fail to see the big picture of the purpose of a higher education.

I was going to post that I feel bad for Tate, but after reading wut's post I take it back.

Blatently false. NC State was created in the 1800's (1887) to correct the mistakes at UNC. UNC was supposed to have Agriculture/Engineering programs and they refused to devote enough resources to it, so the state of NC created a new school in raleigh. How the fuck did you get 1940's? It wasn't an overcrowded department...it was the fact that UNC refused to create or fund one. If you're going to talk shit, get the facts right.

Its faggots like you that make us hate UNC. Most of my friends there are great, but its the fact that I run into cock suckers like yourself too often to mention that makes me vomit when I see your gay colors running down the street.
