well most recently it was on god of war, I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about, you have to climb up this cliff with about 10 waves of spikes that pop out

also some of the 00 missions on goldeneye, particularly the one where you have to protect natalya while she hacks

plus some of the megamans back in the day

oh yea feel free to post computer games too

I played the hell out of that part. A buddy and I probably spent something like 30 minutes on that.

the last one i can remember off hand is the Remote Controlled airplane mission from GTA: San Andreas. That one was nearly impossible, even with 100% of the flying training complete.

I would have said something about running a raid in WoW 23472034823904 times for an item that never dropped, but I remembered God of War 2. I had a fucking bitch of a time pulling off the final QTE to keep Zeus from impaling you with the Sword of Olympus. Having to hear his unskippable spiel before and after he killed you more times than I could count had me visibly shaking in anger at one point. The nice thing about wired controllers is that they limited the distance you could throw them.

Ha I did that remote controlled mission from San Andreas like 10 times before I realized it was optional and you didn't need it to advance the story

My most recent was with RAAM at the end of Gears 1....I probably tried it 50 times before I got it, for about 5 hours spread over 3 days. I eventually got fed up and didn't play for a week, then went back and beat it on like my 3rd try.

Another one would be the last Los Carnales mission on Saints Row where you have to shoot that plane from the car with the rocket launcher. I never ended up beating it.

^ How? I killed everything on every map, even killed diablo a few times on hard as to collect some nice items. This makes me sad So what level should I be before I go back to hell?

This is my first time doing hell. Normally Diablo II doesn't keep my attention that long for me to get this far.

Some parts of Mega Man 9... like with the swinging platform directly over the gap you're supposed to fall through. I just cheated and bought spike protection for the sake of my sanity.

MK3's Sonya was unrealistically hard. She'd instantly counter every move you made. Eventually I just gave up.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo had some lame AI. If you wanted to win you had to resort to tactics that took out all the fun or get lucky.

heh same exact thing happened to me. though it wasnt 5 hours or anything. funny how when you stopped being pissed it is 10x easier.

los carnales was a bitch, but i eventually got it.

-Unlocking several of the cheats in Goldeneye 007, especially Invincibility in the Facility because that one guy appears in random spots

-Playing Gears of War and having the various glitches result in my death and having to play certain sections over and over

-Comix Zone for the Genesis (one life, hard as balls)

-Final Boss of Sonic the Hedgehog 2

but the worst by far....

-Attaining all 100 super jumps for the super suit in Super Mario RPG

^I also agree with earning all the Goldeneye cheats. Earning all of the Perfect Dark cheats was similarly frustrating.

I came up with a strategy for dealing with the Natalya missions. It involves exploiting the game's lackluster AI, specifically taking advantage of the fact that enemies can't see or shoot you across gaps.

There's this boss fight in the third Prince of Persia game that I abso-fucking-lutely hate. You have to face off against two bosses at once. Once one of them is stunned you have to attack him, but his butt buddy always comes in and kicks your ass so you can't get more than a couple of hits in. For some ungodly reason you can't use slo-mo, if you use it you'll exit as soon as you attack the guy (bug maybe?). A single attack rips off only a small chunk of your health, but they WILL get plenty of solid hits in on you. I broke a controller once because of this fight.

haha fuck ecco, i bought it for the virtual console and still cant figure out what the fuck to do and am too lazy to look at a FAQ

I discovered that in the Control stage in goldeneye, the guards with hats will only shoot at Bond, and the guards that aren't wearing hats only attack Natalya. learning that saved my ass

Double Dragon II on NES, the Egypt level.

I also had problems with the RC planes in GTA SA

Metal Gear Solid 4: trying to beat Vamp. I "killed" him nearly 12 times before giving up and looking online.

Trying to beat the Captain of the ship in gnosis mode in Xenosaga episode 1. I still haven't beaten him and gave up on the game.
